Introduction to Visit Types
Solv allows you to manage multiple visit types within the same queue for your location's schedule. This flexibility enables you to customize the patient experience according to the services you offer, the duration of visits, and the availability for both online booking and walk-ins.
Adding and Editing Visit Types
Start by Adding or Editing a Visit Type:
Navigate to the visit types section of your Solv platform.
Click on "Add" or "Edit" to begin creating or modifying a visit type.
Configure the Visit Type Details:
Order on Booking Page: Select the order in which the visit type will appear on your booking page.
Visit Type Name: Enter a descriptive name for the visit type (e.g., Urgent Care, Physicals).
Average Duration: Set the average duration of the visit, which should reflect the time from when the patient enters the exam room until discharge.
Max Per Day: Define the maximum number of this visit type that you want to offer in a single day.
Location Availability: Select the locations where this visit type will be available.
Online or Walk-in Availability:
If "Online" is checked and "Walk-in" is not, the visit type will only be available for online bookings and not for walk-ins using the Solv kiosk.
If neither is checked, only clinic staff can book this visit type for patients.
Example visit type: If your clinic frequently sees pediatric patients, you might want to create a dedicated visit type for pediatric consultations. Since pediatric visits often require more time for thorough examination and additional care, you can set a longer duration for this visit type. This ensures that your providers have ample time to address the unique needs of younger patients without rushing through appointments.
Advanced Settings:
Days of Availability: Adjust the number of days into the future that this visit type can be scheduled (e.g., 30 days for primary care visits, versus the default 2 days).
Ignore Walk-in Availability: If you want this visit type to be excluded from the walk-in availability calculation (e.g., if your walk-in capacity is set to 50%, but you want this visit type to always have 100% online availability), enable this option.
Require a Reason for Visit: Decide whether to require patients to provide a reason for their visit (e.g., "I have a rash" for an urgent care visit). This can be mandatory on both the booking page and the kiosk.
Adding Multiple Visit Types:
To add multiple visit types, click "Add New Row."
Enter the visit type name and set the visit duration.
Solv converts duration from minutes to patients per provider to help you better understand how many patients can be seen within that time frame.
Finalizing the Visit Type:
If you need to set a maximum number of this visit type per day, enter that number.
Don’t forget to select the specific location(s) where this visit type will be available.
Click "Save" to finalize the visit type.
Conclusion
Managing visit types in Solv allows you to tailor your clinic’s offerings to better meet patient needs and clinic capacity. By customizing the availability, duration, and requirements for each visit type, you ensure a streamlined process that enhances both patient and staff experience.
