Using the Telemed Third‑Party Guest Link
Overview
Solv now supports a third‑party guest link for telemedicine visits. This feature lets your team generate a dedicated telemedicine link for a third party (for example, an interpreter) so they can join the visit. The guest link is designed to make it easier to include a third party in a visit.
When to use the guest link
Use the telemedicine guest link any time someone other than the primary patient and provider needs to join the visit, such as:
Translators or interpreters supporting the patient during the call
Caregivers or parents who are not physically with the patient
Other support staff (for example, a remote team member assisting with the visit workflow)
What the guest link does
Generates a unique URL tied to the patient’s telemedicine visit that you can share directly with a third party
Lets the third party join the telemedicine call directly via that link, instead of joining from your queue or using a generic handoff code link
Keeps the primary patient’s information intact in the visit and call state (the third party joining does not overwrite patient 1’s details)
How to generate a third‑party telemedicine guest link
Follow these steps from Solv Manage:
Open the visit
Go to Manage and open the patient’s telemedicine visit from the queue or schedule.
Locate the guest link action
On the visit screen, look for the option labeled “Get additional guest link.”
This appears in the visit details panel where you manage the telemedicine call.
Generate and copy the link
Click “Get additional guest link.”
Solv generates a guest URL for this visit. The interaction is designed so that clicking the control copies the link to your clipboard in one step (no need to separately copy a code first).
Share the link with the third party
Paste the link into your preferred communication channel (for example, your organization’s secure email, SMS tool, or paging system).
When the third party clicks the link on a supported device, they’ll be taken directly into the telemedicine call experience in their browser (they may be prompted to allow camera/microphone access, depending on device and browser settings).
Confirm they’ve joined
Once the third party joins successfully, you should see them appear in the telemedicine call alongside the patient and provider.
What the provider/staff see
When you generate a guest link from the visit:
The visit view shows the standard telemedicine details plus controls to copy or re‑copy the guest link as needed.
Patient demographics and visit information (reason for visit, DOB, etc.) remain associated with the primary patient on the booking, even as additional participants join via the guest link.
Figure 1 below shows an example visit view with the guest link control visible.

Best practices and important notes
Use for focused 3‑party scenarios. This feature is optimized for straightforward cases like adding an interpreter or support person. It’s not a full multi‑party conferencing system.
Avoid sharing via unsecured channels. Always follow your organization’s policies when sending the guest link (for example, use secure email/SMS tools approved by your compliance team).
If you don’t see “Get additional guest link”…
If that option isn’t visible on telemedicine visits in your environment, contact Solv Support or your Solv account team to confirm availability for your group.
FAQ
Does the guest link change the primary patient’s data?
No. The feature specifically exists to prevent the third party from overwriting or changing the original patient’s information in the call or booking.
