Buffers control when patients can book relative to your open time, close time, and the current time. Three types are available:

• Open buffer: blocks bookings right after you open. With an 8:00 a.m. open and a 30-minute open buffer, the first bookable time is 8:30 a.m.

• Closing buffer: blocks bookings right before you close. With an 8:00 p.m. close and a 15-minute closing buffer, the last bookable time is 7:45 p.m.

• Now buffer: blocks bookings too close to the current time. With a 40-minute now buffer, patients can’t book anything in the next 40 minutes.

To set up a buffer:

1. Go to the default schedule settings in Solv.

2. Open the Booking Buffers section and click Add.

3. Choose a static buffer (same every day) or day-specific buffers (different by day).

4. Select the locations the buffer applies to.

5. Click Save Changes.
