Self pay only, not billing insurance

The benefit of self-pay only is that you can collect payment immediately, without waiting for claim submission & payment remittance. However, some patients are only interested in utilizing virtual visit services if they can use their insurance benefits. Not accepting insurance could deter some patients from utilizing virtual services, if you have a price sensitive population.

We have partners who bill insurance following a virtual encounter, and others who opt for self-pay only. We typically see virtual visits range from $49-$75 for each encounter.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we’re seeing large payers like Anthem and Aetna modifying their reimbursement terms to offer virtual visits to be available with no copay for the patient.
