How to auto collect

How to enable Autocollect or request a change
Autocollect is set up for your clinic location through Solv. To request enablement:
Contact your Solv representative or Solv Support and ask to enable Autocollect for the clinic location or locations you specify.
If you want a delay other than the 48-hour default, or a maximum bill amount, include that in your request.
Ask Solv to confirm when the setup is active.
Once enabled, bills created after activation may qualify if they meet the eligibility requirements above. Existing bills are not enrolled retroactively, even if a card is added later.
How Autocollect works
When a bill is created, Solv checks whether it qualifies for Autocollect.
If it qualifies, the charge is scheduled after your clinic’s configured delay. The default delay is 48 hours from bill creation; the bill’s due date does not set the charge date.
The patient is notified when the bill is issued and receives a reminder one day before the scheduled charge.
If the charge succeeds, the bill is marked paid, the patient receives an SMS confirmation, and bill reminders stop.
If the charge is declined, certain recoverable declines are retried once the next day. Otherwise, the patient needs to pay manually using the standard bill payment link or reminder.
What makes a bill eligible?
All of these conditions must be met when the bill is created:
Autocollect is enabled for the clinic location.
The patient has a saved card on file.
The bill is within any maximum amount set for your clinic. If a maximum applies, bills above it follow the standard reminder flow instead.
Eligibility is decided when the bill is created. Adding a card afterward does not enroll an existing bill in Autocollect. The patient can still pay that bill online.
Check whether a bill is scheduled
In Solv, go to Payments → Bills.
Find and open the patient’s bill.
Review the bill’s status and payment details for an upcoming scheduled charge before trying to collect payment another way.
If you don’t see a scheduled charge, check whether the location has Autocollect enabled, whether a card was saved when the bill was created, and whether the bill is within any clinic-specific maximum. Contact your Solv representative or Solv Support to confirm your location’s setup or request a change.
Reschedule an upcoming charge
If a patient needs more time, your clinic can move an upcoming Autocollect charge to a later date before the first charge attempt. It cannot be moved to an earlier date or rescheduled after an attempt has been made.
Request setup or changes
Autocollect availability, timing, and any maximum bill amount are configured for your clinic. Contact your Solv representative or Solv Support to request setup or changes.
